For those who don't know, I was diagnosed with Crohn's Disease two years ago. Last May after a miscarriage, I began a downward spiral with flare ups and other issues relating to my disease. So often during those days, I would cry out to God and ask for immediate relief. A year later, though physically doing better, I am still battling my Crohn's Disease. After two surgeries earlier this year, I was put on another medicine that will hopefully carry me without any more needs for surgery. Today, I had a visit with my GI doctor. Though encouraged, I was reminded that there is no cure for my disease and that I would continue to battle it.
All this said, I have been really encouraged by a little book entitled, The Red Sea Rules. God always has our good in mind, even good with my disease. Instead of asking why me, He wants me to ask how can I bring Him glory through this situation. I can't tell you how real God has been to me over the last year. Would I have chosen it? NO. Has God used it? ABSOLUTELY!
God has been so faithful to our family. Our journey this year has been hard but God is good and He redemns and brings beauty from our ashes. Thank you Father!

S U M M E R is here!

Today was Camden's last day of school. It was so fun and again I want to thank God for allowing us to send him to Ben Lippen. This year has been such a blessing. His teachers love the Lord and have such a sweet and tender spirit. His classmates have prayed for each other through the year and been encouragers for each other.
This morning in Chapel Camden received the Micah 6:8 Scholarship from school. It is such a honor to receive this award and we so thankful for it. After Chapel, all K5 went to the football field and we had old fashioned games - water balloon toss, egg toss, and three-legged race. The kids had a blast.
I can't believe we are at summer! Thank you Father for the blessing of this school year!

Last Day of Preschool

This morning I dropped Landon off at his last day of preschool. Even as I write this, tears sting my eyes. I can't believe that my boys will both be in school next year. It has been such a blessing for Camden to be at Ben Lippen this year and God has made a way for Landon to be there as well next year. My prayer is that I will learn and grow so that I can be an encouraging and fun "mom" (not Mommy : ) to my growing boys. Summer here we come!

Girlfriend!
As soon as Camden entered the car in carpool today, he said, "Mom, I have a girlfriend!" A girlfriend? He's only in kindergarten! As we continued to talk, he told me that a girl in his class, Claxi, had asked him if he was her friend. During afternoon center time, apparently she made a book about the two of them and Camden drew a picture of them together. Very cute.
Greg and my desire has always been to keep communication open about friends, girlfriends, and things happening at school. We don't want to pick or joke because we know that puts up walls. Alas, Camden's first girlfriend - what do we say? How do we respond - I'm glad that you are friends : )

Thankful

This weekend I have not felt well. I don't know if it's exhaustion, my Crohn's or a combination of things. Anyway, Greg has been so great. He and the boys helped clean the house yesterday morning, he has done dishes (and more dishes), and LAUNDRY! I am so grateful for him. This week we will celebrate our 10th Anniversary. I can't believe it has been that long! He is a wonderful husband and daddy and I am so thankful for him.
I have no idea where God will take us these next 10 years, but I am so glad to know that Greg is seeking Christ with all of his heart and that he desires to lead our family in a Godly manner.
Trophy!
