"Ouch and Amen . . ."

These are words one of my favorite pastors penned about a book I just started reading, Radical by David Platt. I have only read the first chapter and Gregg Matte could not have spoken truer words. I was so excited about the insight and Scriptures shared in the first few pages I could hardly sleep. I cannot wait to see how God uses this book in my life.

To go along with the excitement of this book, we have some sweet friends in the Ukraine right now adopting a son. They have been there for almost three weeks and have blogged about their daily interactions with the other children at the school. Each of the children long to be loved. One sixteen year old girl even asked if she could call my friends "Mommy and Poppy." My heart breaks for them, growing up without knowing love. Time is not right for our family to personally bring one of these children into our family; however, their trip and story has lit a fire in my heart. I can't wait to see what God does with these passions.
