Pages Turned
This weekend, Greg and I were able to head to DC for a good friend's wedding. It was wonderful for us to get away with just the two of us and I love weddings. The ceremony was full of worship. Towards the end, the groom (our friend and talented musician) sang a song for his bride, A Page is Turned by Bebo Norman. If you have not heard it, find it - it is a beautiful song. Anyway, as I was sitting in the service, listening to the first stanza of the song - "A page is turned by the wind to a boy in curly grin, With a world to conquer at the age of ten, But as history unfolds and the storybook is told, He finds salvation but not at the hands of man . . . " God spoke to me. The song continues with the boy meeting a girl, their salvation and growth in Christ, and then finally marriage. This song depicts what I long for my two boys to one day find. My prayer is that my boys will grow in the Lord and even now their future wives will begin on their journeys with Christ. I pray protection and mercy on them even now.
