Today I read one of my favorite blogs. Her entry today was regarding a friend's blog entitled Twirl. As I read both entries, I was reminded of God's love for us.
Twirl. The concept is simple. God loves us for who we are not what we do. Yes, I believe that but so often I put pressure on myself to preform or do instead of resting in Him.
For my kids, I so long for them to live in the freedom of God's love for them - to know that He loves them - delights in them and created them just as they are. I want them to be able to twirl with freedom from insecurity, knowing Whose they are. I want them to know this verse and the joy it brings:
The LORD your God is with you,
he is mighty to save.
He will take great delight in you,
he will quiet you with his love,
he will rejoice over you with singing. Zephaniah 3:17
He sings over me - I don't think I have ever allowed this verse to sink into my heart.
